The Anniston Room is housed inside the Alabama Room located on the second floor of the Library. Rare photographs, historic artifacts and memorabilia of early Anniston and Calhoun County are on display. Tours are conducted upon request and with advance notice for groups and individuals interested in the history of our city and county.
The Anniston Room may be used by small groups of 40 maximum for meetings without the use of tables or AV equipment, or 25 with the use of tables or AV equipment, when such use can be arranged without disrupting library programs and/or tours. All reservation requests must be made to and approved by either the Library Director or the Alabama Room staff.
The Ayers Room is primarily intended for Library sponsored or co-sponsored events. However, when scheduling permits, it is available for use by other organizations, with the understanding that the Library or Library support groups will always have priority in the event of a scheduling conflict. The Ayers Room will comfortably seat 80 maximum without tables. Reservation request should be made 4 weeks prior to the event, if possible, to the Library Director or Alabama Room staff. All requests for use of the Ayers Room are subject to final approval by the Library Director.
The Primary reasons for making the Ayers Room available for meetings is to increase Library usage by acquainting civic, educational, cultural, and governmental groups and their members with the Library’s facilities and services. There is a nonrefundable fee charged for maintenance and cleaning. The fee is based on the type of event scheduled. Regulations regarding the rental and fee structure of the Ayers Room are subject to change or adjustment as deemed necessary by the Library Director and/or Library Board.
The Ayers and Alabama Room are available during the following hours:
a. Monday-Friday 8:45 am to 4:45 pm
b. Saturday 1:45 pm to 4:45 pm
c. 1st and 3rd Sundays 1:45 pm to 4:45 pm
Meeting with no refreshments or light refreshments (cookies, punch, coffee) - $50.00
Meeting with heavy hors d’oeuvres or meal – minimum charge $125.00, additional cleaning charges may apply.
Meeting for more than 15 or more attendees, with no refreshments or light refreshments (cookies, punch, coffee) - $25.00.
Meeting for 5 to 15 attendees with no refreshments - $10.00
Meeting with less than 5 attendees with no refreshments - $.00
Fee exemptions are given to library support groups, organizations that support the library through literary programming open to the public, or through financial support in an amount that equals or exceeds the annual projected rental of the facility by the group.
